Cllr Dermot Looney is a Labour representative on South Dublin County Council. He was elected in June 2009 in the Tallaght Central ward with 2,329 first preferences. At 28 years of age Looney is known as a passionate, principled and energetic advocate for working people. An unapologetic socialist with an active campaigning background, Looney is a strong and proud left-wing voice for the people of Tallaght, Greenhills, Perrystown and Templeogue on the Council and beyond.
